happy valentine's day
Valentines day is known to be the day that friends and lovers exchange gifts. But it wasn't meant to exchange gifts; on the contrary it was meant to honor a christian and ancient roman saint named st. Valentine. There are multiple background legends about st. Valentine. One takes place in the roman empire where Valentine was a priest at the time when Claudius II was emperor. And at the time Claudius said that men who were single worked better for the war than a man who was married and had a family. valentine in the other hand was continuously marring young lovers in secret. Of course Claudius found out and killed Valentine. In another story it was said that Valentine was put to death because it was said that Valentine helped out Christians who were imprisoned in harsh roman prisons. According to the legend Valentine himself sent the first valentine card to a girl who had visited him while in prison. Basically all his story's have him being heroic and romantic. Back in the day rituals were priest having a feast while the whole city. Soon after later in the day girls from all around the country would write their name in urn and men would then pick one out which is mostly likely to lead to marriage. Now Valentines day is known for the day of romance. There is some valentine cards from back in the day that were found and seemed really cute. Well this all I have soooo HAPPY VALENTINES DAYS !!!!!
