STUDENT SUCCESS STATEMENT

"Character matters most" ~ Dale Murphy 

                    I personally agree with Murphy because of a experience I had over the weekend. Over the weekend I went to a retreat with my church and I can honestly say I had fun. I think it was because I was participating too much. At multiple points I was dancing and singing and I know how to dance but I like to play around so I making up some dumb yet funny moves. And when we had to sing I was in the middle with a group of friends singing and dancing. When we left I remember the coordinator of the retreat was telling me that I was really funny and that she was really grateful that I was hyping up the crowd. I remember being so happy for those days. I got to be with the people I love and really cherish and have changed me for the good. I remember that besides all those tears that were there most of the time there were more smiles in the end. Basically if you think positive you will be happy. But if you keep bringing yourself down you will not be happy. I have a friend who is 19 years old and he told me that he was always really negative and that when he wanted to be happy it was really hard for him. But now that he is somewhat good he tells me that good things do happen for him. Therefore character matters most because it depends on how you look at the world.

                       when you cheat you are choosing the wrong. if just do what is right you will be able to accomplish more things. My friend that teams up with me used to do the wrong. Which was using drugs and what not. But then his parents got to him and well he met me and he changed for the good I guess. Now hes into he church yeah he does lie sometimes and does things where I sometimes do get mad at him but its okay. He tells me that when he was in high school he would cheat off of someones homework and would turn it in. But now that he is in college he know what type of work he needs to put in. Yet again we all cannot put all the blame on him for some reason. We all make mistakes and well if people get mad then fine get mad because it isn't my fault to be human. But I do agree that you shouldn't cheat because it will come back to you. Yes, I know that what he did in the past wasn't good for anyone. That is why he stopped for completely of course his coping isn't the best because he did stop that bad habit for good but he learned his lesson. He learned that cheating isn't good and what he was doing wasn't good for nothing especially for him. Therefore he tells me that he was stupid and that he wont ever do it again. Now he is on the right pathway. He follows rules and wants to promote it to others to stop drug abuse.
