student success statement: Otto Graham, Jr.
"Ask yourself is it right or wrong and act accordingly"~ Otto Graham, Jr.
On Sunday afternoon a friend and I decided to go to the 99 cents store to buy whiteboard markers for teachers whom markers didn't work. I decided that I should've bought two packs of 3 markers. But I saw a man who only had $1.75 to pay for his stuff and I had a extra quarter so that the elderly man had two dollars, so he could just put 10 cents more. The man was so grateful because instead of buying two packs of markers I bought one so that the man could enjoy his products. I remember walking to the line of the cashier and seeing a old fragile man who was limping without his cane. I felt so bad for the man so I deiced to help him out. Another occasion happened in Sunday too. A woman was asking for money for her kids to have food. I gave her $5 my brother got mad because it was "too much money". But my mom saw how sorry I felt and she told him " if the woman lied then she lied but that Fatima did a right thing by helping other she did the right thing". Which means that she is right, the woman or whoever could lie but if you have a good heart and give to someone in need you did was right by giving. But they did something bad by lying.
